Popflex
Popflex's Sustainability Rating:

Poor

Popflex's Poor rating is due to a lack of published sustainability information. It’s a smaller brand, which means it likely has fewer resources for robust sustainability efforts and reporting. When Popflex publishes more data, we’ll be able to do a more thorough review.

Popflex is still reliant on high emissions materials, including nylon, rayon, spandex, and cotton. Commons couldn't find any stated plans to increase low emissions materials and/or decrease synthetic materials. However, Popflex offers a resale/swap platform, called POPCYCLE, to help extend product lifetime.

The brand shares some details on its labor practices, but doesn't share information on its supply chain. It doesn't provide reporting on most other sustainability topics, including energy or emissions.

  • Raw Materials

Commons couldn't find information on the overall proportion of materials this brand uses. We assume larger brands are still dependent on high emissions materials. Popflex appears to heavily rely on high emissions and synthetic materials. Commons couldn't find any stated plans to increase low emissions materials or decrease synthetic materials. Popflex doesn't report having any product or company-level certifications.

  • Energy Use & Production

Popflex doesn't share information on its energy strategy. Popflex sources and manufactures its materials globally, which is standard practice in the textile industry.

  • Packaging & Distribution

Popflex has made efforts to minimize the amount of material used in its packaging. It uses eco-friendly materials in its product containers, including ones that are biodegradable.

  • Repair & Care

Popflex doesn't offer repair services or support. Popflex doesn't offer a warranty. Commons couldn't find care instructions for this brand.

  • Take Back Programs

Popflex has a take back program called PopCycle. This program accepts the brand's own clothes for resale or 'swaps'.

  • Slow Fashion

Popflex offers some products across multiple seasons but also releases new items frequently throughout the year. It limits overproduction and waste via a 'test first' model.

  • Marketing

Commons is still evaluating this brand's marketing emails.

  • Transparency & Reporting

Popflex has a sustainability page with high-level details on its climate strategy, but this page is hard to find on its website. Like many small brands with limited resources, it doesn't publish an annual sustainability report.

  • Emissions Tracking

Commons couldn't find information on this brand's emissions tracking. This process can be an expensive undertaking for small brands.

  • Targets & Offsets

Commons couldn't find emissions reduction targets for this brand. Commons couldn't find evidence that this brand offsets any emissions.

  • Supply Chain & Labor

Popflex publishes some information about its supply chain partners, but doesn't provide details on geography or traceability. It doesn't publicly share a supplier code of conduct, but does disclose its abides by amfori performance areas which ensures the right to collective bargaining, establishes grievance mechanisms, ensures a living wage, prohibits child labor, prohibits forced labor, and includes environmental clauses. Popflex has a stated policy of regularly auditing its supply chain partners, which can mitigate human and environmental risks.
