E.L.V. Denim
Upcycled jeans and denim clothing combatting fast fashion waste
E.L.V Denim creates timeless jeans and denim clothing for men and women from 100% upcycled materials. Founded by renowned fashion stylist Anna Foster, the brand started with its signature contrast color denim mid-seam jeans and has since expanded to include shirts, dresses, and accessories. Every piece is handcrafted in East London from preloved garments, reducing the transcontinental transport usually involved in jean production. This zero-waste approach uses every part of the denim, with offcuts turned into patchwork fabrics and smaller threads into insulation. Sourcing trips in vintage warehouses across the UK yield high-quality denim and other inspiring materials.
How is E.L.V. Denim sustainable?
Based on our sustainability criteria, Commons rates E.L.V. Denim as a Better brand.
It’s impressive that E.L.V. Denim creates its jeans from local, 100% upcycled materials. All of its products are created in an East London atelier by local craftspeople. Dedicated to their circular, zero-waste vision, E.L.V. offers both a takeback and resale program and finds creative uses for all fabric scraps created during the production process.
We’d like to see more details about their packaging, their fair labor and wage practices, and their carbon emissions.
