True Botanicals is rated Fair because it has prioritized responsible ingredients and packaging materials, but still has room to grow elsewhere.

True Botanicals has committed to avoiding many ingredients that pose a threat to the climate, including parabens, phthalates, PFAS, harmful suncare ingredients, and other petrochemical-based ingredients. It carries products certified by: PETA Animal Test-free, Made Safe, Leaping Bunny, and EWG Verified. The brand doesn't offer any takeback program, but it has made efforts to reduce its packaging plastic use and waste and has 100% plastic-free packaging for its product containers.

We hope to see more transparency around its emissions in the future - it mentions working towards carbon neutrality but does not provide more detail on this or information on any emissions measurement / reduction efforts.

True Botanicals holds the following company-level certifications: 1% for the Planet, Plastic Negative, Hypoallergenic, Pact, and Microbiome Friendly.

It uses plastic-free packaging and containers, using glass bottle and FSC paper cartons instead.
