Reformation uses majority low impact fibers in its garments. It helps keep garments out of landfill by offering repair and takeback programs. While its frequent release schedule exhibits elements of a fast fashion model, the brand has made meaningful strides in its emissons tracking and reduction strategy, renewable energy strategy, and supply chain traceability.


  • Raw Materials

    Reformation makes their clothing with fiber certifications including GOTS, GRS, RWS, and OKEO-TEX. 91% of its garments are made with lowest impact fibers, including recycled cotton, regenerative cotton, and deadstock materials. It has plans to reduce its reliance on high impact fibers by transitioning to 100% recycled, regenerative, or renewable materials by 2025, and it has reported progress towards these goals within the last year.


  • Energy Use & Production

    Reformation has started to incorporate some renewable energy into its manufacturing, but it is unclear to what extent. It uses 100% renewable energy for its stores, offices, and other corporate operations.


  • Packaging & Distribution

    Reformation has made efforts to reduce the amount of virgin plastic in its packaging by using a mix of plastic-free and recycled plastic packaging.

    Reformatoin has a repair program in collaboration with Hemster. It does not offer a warranty. It gives detailed and environmentally conscious care instructions for its garments.

    Reformation has a takeback program that accepts its own brand's items for recycling and resale. It has reported on the impact and efficacy of this program.

    Reformation exhibits some elements of a fast fashion business model, including frequent releases of new styles.

    Reformation shares the name and locations of its supply chain partners. It publicly shares the degree to which it has traced its supply chain. It publicly shares its Supplier Code of Conduct, which protects the right to collective bargaining, prohibits forced labor, and requires a living wage. It does not limit subcontracting. The brand conducts regular partner audits.
