Dr. Max’s has a Good rating because it intentionally minimizes resource use and environmentally harmful ingredients.

Dr. Max’s successfully avoids many ingredients that pose a threat to the climate, including parabens, phthalates, other petrochemical-based ingredients, PFAS, and microplastics. It greatly reduces its waste and emisisons footprint by offering waterless formats with ephemeral packaging for all its products. Dr. Max’s has 100% plastic-free packaging for its product containers but does not share information on its shipping materials.

While it can be challenging for small brands to allocate time and resources to reporting, in the future, we'd like to see more thorough information on sourcing and labor practices, as well as information on Dr. Max's emissions, and energy and water use.
