  • Emissions Tracking

Organic Basics has measured their greenhouse gas emissions on both a product- and company-level with third parties. It publicly reports these numbers and has identified raw materials and transport as the main drivers of its emissions.

  • Emissions Targets

Organic Basics has a target to reduce its carbon intensity by 50% by 2025, though Commons did not find evidence that this is SBTi-aligned. It shares progress against this goal. Organic Basics claims to offset all emissions in its value chain, including production, shipping, and its headquarters. Commons did not find information about the specific offsets being used.

  • Supply Chain & Labor

Organic Basics publishes the names and locations of their production partners, many of whom carry labor and sustainability certifications. Their 2021 impact report estimated 100% traceability into their production partners and 71% traceability into their material suppliers. Commons did not find evidence of a Supplier Code of Conduct or policies related to subcontracting, collective bargaining, or audits. They claim there is no forced labor and workers are paid a living wage in its production partner facilities.
