Kings of Indigo
Men's and women's denim made with low-impact, organic cotton
Based in Amsterdam since 2012, Kings of Indigo creates men's and women's jeans, tank tops, jackets, pants, t-shirts, long sleeves, shirts, blouses, singlets, dresses, and jumpsuits with a commitment to quality and minimal environmental impact. Using only organic or recycled cotton, Kings of Indigo's denim is crafted without harmful chemicals, ensuring soil health and biodiversity. Its summer essentials feature linen and hemp, which require minimal water and no chemicals. It also incorporates TENCEL™, ECOVERO™, and REFIBRA™ for a luxurious feel. All of its direct suppliers are socially audited, and the entire supply chain is transparent through Retraced.
How is Kings of Indigo sustainable?
Based on our sustainability criteria, Commons rates Kings of Indigo as a Better brand.
We like that Kings of Indigo is measuring and offsetting its footprint, prioritizing organic and recycled cotton in its denim production, and using production strategies that reduce its overall impact. We’d like to see greater transparency around its wastewater approach, use of renewable energy, and re-prioritizing labor protection efforts.
